Default Apple Hit With 3G iPhone Lawsuit

I just started using a iPhone this week, and haven't made a single call (yet). Honestly, the device is nice, but would be so much nicer with a tactile keyboard and a battery that lasted a full day.

Apple really needs to be more forthcoming with information on this problem. Their silence is doing nothing but ticking off their customers.

I have to wonder if this has something to do with the whole HSDPA/UMTS technology (High Speed Downlink Packet Access/Universal Mobile Telephone System) ... Seems as if this is not limited to iPhones. I wonder if the sudden surge in devices utilizing this technology has uncovered some infrastructure problems.

They're are reports out there that the Bold is suffering from similar problems.

Yeah, many people do not understand the limits of the 3G bandwidth and if its overloaded it will switch you. I want to see that this is as widespread as it is being reported on the net. over 3 million devices in the wild, is it the loudest people making the 3G trouble claims?
If it is the infrastructure then Bold's release will surely multiply the problems.

Juwaack - you should follow Apple's suggestion (about battery life) and these problems go away:

- turn off 3G
- turn off WiFi
- turn off Location Based Services
- turn off Push e-mail

That will solve any 3G phone problems.

So says Apple. Where are all the fanboys when this stuff happens?

I have everything on and get a solid full day of use which includes lots (hundred's) of email, 45-60 mins talk, some games and/or watching a movie at lunch, music on break time ...... have had no 3G drops (which might be because everywhere I work/travel is solid 3G.). If my Curve had the screen size the iPhone has I'd be as happy as a pig in sh.., er, the mud. It's (no pun intended) Apples and Oranges. 2 different devices with 2 different "directions."
