Back on the main subject - I am also curious on the Bold/Niagara on Verizon. I tried the storm and the touch screen is not for me. (I have tried an iPhone and hated it - the Storm was much better, but I still like my 8830 better). I am eligible for a upgrade now and would wait if the Niagara was coming soon to verizon??

Input from the group - go with Curve now or wait on Niagara?

Depends on how long you want to wait?

With the recent launch of the Storm, I doubt VZW will launch anything in Q1 of 2009 that would take away from the Storm sales.

I thought about that - just purchasing a used Curve for now and then use my new every year when the Niagara comes out. Or get a new Curve now and by this time next year get a Niagara. If we only knew the relase dates!

Mike

Either way, I would dump the 7250.

I did and returned it after 8 days. My only problems were the battery life and that every time I talked on the phone I would accidentally click the screen and either activate speaker phone or mute the call.

Battery life for me lasted maybe 4 hours fully charged. Went through the normal stuff of screen brightness, timeout, etc. Finally figured out that even thought the VZ Navigator app was closed, it was still killing my battery. Uninstalled it completely, battery pull, and now after about 24 hours of use i still have about 50% battery left.

I'm fairly certain the Niagara will launch under the Curve name, not the Bold name. Like the Javelin.

Wrong. There is a CDMA version of the Javelin in development as well code named "Jupiter". The Niagara is the successor to the 8830 and will likely be released as the Bold 9030.

You're right, of course, the Niagara is more akin to the Bold than the Javelin. Of course, who knows what the devices will be named when they hit the carrier - I never would've guessed the Kickstart would take on the Pearl moniker. Verizon has a history of 'renaming' or 'denaming' phones, anyway, that have a pretty standard name with other carriers.
