From the applications screen, open menu, select show all. Highlight the hidden icon, then menu, un-tick hide.

Oooops. The brain saw what it expected instead of what was there..... I have to think. Maybe someone will have the answer before me.

How did you hide the file in the first place?

I'm not sure how you do it on your OS version, but maybe you open the media app, then menu, then explore. Whatever, once you see the files, can you open the menu and then select show hidden?

Yeah I thought that to, so I went and checked mine. Once in the file folders there is no option for show hidden, also one highlighted on a file there is no option to hide it.

I have "show hidden" on 9700/5.0.0.714 but can't remember seeing it when I had OS version 4.5.

If it can't be done from the device, then do it from the computer, either with the BlackBerry in mass storage mode, or with a card reader -- assuming we are talking about the media card.

If the file is in main memory and you can't unhide it from the device then I don't know what to do.

Ah yeah those both good peices of info, ok just figured it out on my phone. If I go to the file then go to its properties I can chose to hide. Then once its gone if I am in the main file menu I hit the BB button and there is now an option for show hidden. Guess you have to have a hidden file for the option to be there.

If you are in a media folder with files, then you should see 'show hidden' because of the hidden .dat files, based on your observation.

I wondered about this too. Is it for people using BES? I also think you should be able to find any file using the search tool in any menu. Guess we'll all hafta experiment a little.
