Wink Confused.

Hey, I am considering getting my first Blackberry, the Tour to be exact. But, I was wondering that since there is no WiFi onhe Tour, what exactly am I missing? (please note, I am not that phone savy.) I am looking for something that allows me to read and store PDF files. My coworkers have the 8900 and the bold. They listen to radio stations from allover the country, if they didn't have WiFi would they still have it? or would it work as fast?

Thanks!!

Unless you are constantly around an accessible wireless network you aren't missing much with the Tour from the 8900 Curve. The Tour uses EVDO RevA (3.5G) where the Curve was NOT 3G.

I would pick one up first and see if you like it. When VZW gets it of course.

To actually answer your question, yes, the Tour should be able to read/store PDFs and listen to Internet radio. If you've never used wifi on a cell phone before, you certainly won't miss it.

It will read PDF's as attachments, but to read PDF's as files stored on the BB you will need to either email them to yourself or get a 3rd party application.

Does wifi help with signal and battery power?

Are you referring to battery usage, or data speeds? Your post is a little confusing.

I'm hoping with a 1400 battery the 9630 should have better battery life then the 8330 right?

I hope so.

But, with faster processor and a little bigger screen, will that suck up the improvement.

As long as it gets me through the day to bed time, I don't really mind. However, I DON'T want it to be close. Between 25-50% would be OK.

Some days, I talk too much on the phone and I have to charge. I ended up (a couple devices ago) having a desktop charger for a spare battery, then I swap batteries. Nice because I get the rrefresh that goes with the battery pull, but still a pain.
