Looks nice, but i don't think i'll be getting it. I like my 8700, love the qwerty KB. If they make something similarly shaped, with an memory expansion slot and wifi, i'd be stoked. I don't need the camera, as I always have my digicam to my avail either on me, or in the car.

I'm in the same boat 100%. Been using qwerty blackberry since the 950...I can't give that up.

I hope very soon they will include the Blackberry maps in latest s/w releases so that I can use it on my 8700. Also if Policy is going to control the video and SD card slot then it is going to be very painful if you buy a aused one from Ebay and now good luck with that policy that can not be compromised.

That has to be one of the best reviews of a new tech device in a long time. Congrats to Pogue for being so creative.

USA Today had a comparison between the Pearl and the Nokia E61, listing some good points and bad points for each. The Wall Street Journal also had a review in Walter Mossberg's column. He extolled the virtues of the Blackberry but in the end said he was keeping his Treo 700p. Both articles had some good factual info and unbiased critiques. Looks like it's media blitz time for RIM, pumping up just as the Pearl is to be released. Well, they can't whip me up into any more of a frenzy than I'm already in. I'll be waiting near the door of a local T-Mobile store come Tuesday morning around dawn.

Ok, so I thought the grass would be greener on the other side. Sold by 8700g and went over to Verizon for a Treo, hate it!! Crashes all the time or just hangs. Going back to T-Mobile on tuesday and getting the new Pearl. Lesson learned :(
