Default Going to purchase BB Bold soon: I am confused about plan

Please Login to Remove!

I am going to purchase BB Bold soon on contract.

I have real problem though - im so confused.

Most deals i see say "unlimited mobile internet and webmail" and then it says later "if you want Blackberry Internet Service extra £5 a month"

I want to use my BB bold to do the following:

- Surf real internet e.g. facebook, financial times (i do this every day)
- Check real emails e.g. gmail, hotmail (i do this regularly like almost every day)
- download attachments from emails e.g. documents (i do this a few times a week)
- Sometimes use my Bold with my wifi at home

i want to do all this without being charged pay as u go data useage. What plan do i chose to satisfy my needs?

Question: is "unlimited mobile internet and webmail" the exact same thing as BIS? I dont get what BIS is and whether I need it. Im so confused ive tried to understand but everywhere says different things.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I really appreciate it.

BIS ( Blackberry Internet Server) is the technical platform that supports e-mail, web surfing and other data functions on your Blackberry. You will still need a data plan from your carrier in order to connect to it.

Most carriers offer a variety of data plans which have different monthly rates and allowances of "free" data access per month- if you exceed that allowance in a monthly billing period, you revert to "pay as you go", with that rate being determined by your carrier, until your new billing period starts and the allowance refreshes

The Unlimited plans carry the highest monthly rate.

I would suggest contacting your carrier for details on their plans.

Hope this helps.

T-Mobile charges $20/month for unlimited BIS add-on to a regular minutes plan. It's the best deal in Blackberry data anywhere. You still need a text plan but you can talk them into unlimited texts for $10/month or less.

The thing to remember with Blackberrys is that you need the dedicated Blackberry Data Plan, not a generic smart phone unlimited mobile internet/webmail plan. They include pretty much the same things, but one is specifically for Blackberry devices. The generic plan won't give you all the services you want on a Blackberry. Unlimited BIS is what you want.
