I'm new in this forum. I had the same problem almost everyone described (Desktop Manager pops up and closes in Windows Vista). I've tried with 4.2 SP1, USER ACCOUNT CONTROL OFF and now it's working.

Another little quirk that I ran into is that, in response to a question in the installation sequence, one must answer that the DM is to be available to ALL users.
