Default Opera Mini not available for Tour 5.0?

Please Login to Remove!

I just tried to find where to download the opera mini, and it said to go to http://m.opera.com/

When I try to go there from the default Tour browser, I get an error (HTTP: Error 500: Internal Server Error) and it won't proceed. I was able to get there through Bolt, but when I click the link "Use your phone’s default Web browser to visit the address m.opera.com." it doesn't do anything. When I check the download to PC link, there is no offering for the Blackberry firmware 5.0. When you actually try to check for a specific Blackberry device, the 9630 Tour is not even listed in the compatible section.

Anyone else have this problem? I don't mind using Bolt- which seems easier than the default browser- but I wanted to try the Opera Mini version.

How did you load the Opera Mini on your BB with 5.0? Or did you install it prior to upgrading to 5.0?

UPDATE:

I just noticed that my NEW Sprint 9630 that I got yesterday, came shipped with v4.7.1.57 and not the newer 5.0 version. Why would a new phone not come with the newest OS? Very strange. Should I upgrade to 5.0 or stay with the 4.7 version. I've heard mixed views on the new OS.

It installs for me but it is a very slow browser for me at best. the built in for me is ten times faster. and that is not exaggeration i timed looking up same sites on both.

I installed the update to OS 5 and was able to finally download the Opera mini browser. I found it faster than Bolt, and tried a couple of web pages and found one that Bolt would not even load while Opera loaded without a problem. However, I also noticed that the BB browser seemed faster than Opera as well.

So far no problems with the 5.0 OS, other than several menus have changed. Thankfully all my customizations remained that same, so I am happy about that.

I've been using it with 5.0 but for some reason after the official upgrade it hasn't been working as well. It doesn't save the user/password info like it used to.

Funny, I typed a long reply to this from within the Opera Mini- yet it locked me inside the box and wouldn't allow me any options to actually 'click' to post the reply. Once I finally got out of the box and hit the 'post' button- it completely disappeared.

Basically, what I said was that I do not Opera in that it doesn't offer a 'zoom' feature like Bolt does. Even the BB Browser's zoom function is very erratic. I just hate most mobile versions of websites so I prefer to have the page displayed normally, and with Bolt, you can easily zoom in or out.

Speed wise, I still think the BB Browser, but due to it's erratic zoom, I find myself spending more time trying to view the page, then actually viewing the page.

What is also annoying is that if you click on a web link in an e-mail, it only offers two choices- Opera or native browser; which is how I ended up doing the WAP version on Opera.

My Gf is having the same problems on her Tour. She did the OTA update from Verizon. She had to get the newer version of Opera, it worked ok for a week, now she can't post in any of her forums. Is this opera or the update?

Have her try a battery pull. Opera has a slight memory leak

I have had her do that. I also had her delete her history, e-mails, messages, cache. She is still having the issue. I know the version she got is more suited for the touch screen phones with the new home page. It works great on my Droid and my friends storm. I have it on my Curve and its slow as you know what.

Default Weather Radar Animation Issue

I am running Opere Mini 5.0. I like the browser with one exception. My businsess is very weather sensitive and I use Accuweather and NOAA quite a bit and can't get any of the radar loops to animate. Any ideas as to what the issue may be?
