Default SIM uknown?

Please Login to Remove!

I purchased a tour from a friend of mine but I cant activate it. I checked the sim card and it says "unknown". So I am guessing it is locked? Would getting a code from a site such as a sponsor fix this issue?

What carrier is the device branded to?
Who is your carrier?
Is it unlocked?

It is a verizon phone, which is also my carrier. It says "unknown" when I checked to see if it was locked.

It has a SIM card but I checked it and it must have been inserted wrong but it is right now. Anyway it says "active" so the phone is locked. Like I said it is a verizon phone and I use verizon so I wouldnt think I would need to unlock it. Should I just purchase a code and have it unlocked?

sometimes people mistake the memory card for the SIM. Try another Verizon SIM from a working phone.

Verizon devices don't require a SIM. The SIM card inserted is a GSM SIM for use when travelling to non-CDMA networks.
