Angry 3 AM emails !!

Is there a way to automatically shut down the redirector so that my phone does not go nuts at 3am when I get some !@#@#@ email? I need to leave my phone on at night because it’s my emergency contact number.

Good idea however it’s a pain in the neck to change profiles every day twelve times. I'm looking for a way to either automatically shut the redirector down at night or automatically set the phone to go to the silent profile from a certain time to a certain time.

I had a Samsung i600 before the BB and although it was a terrible phone it did give me the option of setting different email sync options for peak vs. off peak times as well as the flexibility to set the peak and off peak times.

The only way I've found to do it is with profiles. I have a "night" profile that cuts everything off (including the LED) except for phone calls. I have a "quiet" profile that shuts everything off (including vibrating alerts). It is hard to get used to it, but a few 3 A.M. junk mail emails did the trick for me.

Trust me I know the feeling. The only thing I have done so far is set a limit to Two tones for the emails so that I don't need to get our of bed until the third buzz. (I actually set it for "One" buzz but it always does two anyway)

I set up an "in-holster" profile to make everything but phone calls silent. And since I don't want to use the actual holster, I just stick a small fridge magnet under the bottom of my phone to automatically switch it to holstered mode.
