Default How to remove "IT Policy Name: Default" in General Setting

Please Login to Remove!

Received a used BB 7290 from my ex-boss recently. As usual, before I activate anything, I "wipe handheld" for twice and update the firmware from v4.0.2.49 to v4.1.0.292.

I notice after I update firmware to v4.1.0.292, it show below extra 2 lines in "Security Options", "General Settings" screen:

IT Policy Name: Default
Last update: Nov 27, 2008 5:47 PM

How do I remove the above 2 line? I have done numerous "wipe handheld" but it still shows. It doesn't show on firmware v4.0.2.49.

The instructions at the link above for BlackBerryFAQ are outdated. So is the link to pinstack posted in reply 2.
Please don't use them.

Use method #1 here:

Not only are the directions in reply 2 NOT out of date, but they are more accurate and apparently MORE up to date than the directions posted here. Specifically, the link in reply 2:
  1. Recommends using JL_Cmder for any device with OS 4.3 and higher. This has been the case for almost a year (who's out of date?).
  2. Discloses that the policy.bin will enable the firewall and that it will be locked. The other does not.
  3. Does NOT incorrectly refer to "unlocking". Unlocking allows your phone (any phone) to connect to any compatible carrier and has nothing to do with IT Policy.
  4. Gives direct links for downloads - not links to "Adult Content" or pages with a dozen links.
Other than that, the instructions are comparable. I don't care that another post is recommended, but if you have a problem with the instructions I recommended, enlighten us all with what's wrong with them! Don't just say they're out of date when they're obviously not.

Oh yea - your link doesn't work either.
