Question Custom ring tones we didn't set ourselves

Please Login to Remove!

I installed the latest OS in both my and my wife's 9630. Now, all contacts in both our phones have been given a custom ring and message tones, but not by us. We discovered this when we got calls with the "Ringer_ClassicPhone" instead of the ring tones we established for normal calls and BBPro_Sanguine with messages.

All contacts that did not have a custom tone assigned by us were given these tones. They do not show up in our "Contact Alerts", so we can't delete them so they revert to our profile ring tones. I can't even go to each one and eliminate this tone without giving them another as there isn't a "none" setting.

Any suggestions on how to fix this other than deleting all our contacts and putting them in again?

HELP!

The same thing happens to me sometimes. I've found a quick way to make the modification:

Click Profiles
Set Contact Alerts
Scroll to the contact who you want to clear the alerts
Click Delete

The special Alerts will be deleted, but not the contact.

As I stated originally, none of these appear in my contact alerts, so I cannot delete them there.

Other ideas?

Somehow my entire phone book became a custom alert. Is there a fast and easy way to delete all of the custom alerts?

This is a known bug is the latest versions of OS v4.7.1 for the Tour -- I am running v4.7.1.61 on my VZW Tour. Contact Alerts are created (when the shouldn't) whenever you edit and save an existing contact on the device -- FYI, Contact Alerts are not created if you edit the contact within Outlook (in a BES configuration) and synced to the device. Unfortunately, the extraneous Contact Alerts must be manually deleted one at a time once they are created. The fastest way to accomplish this is to repeatedly hit DEL followed by the D key (to confirm), waiting for each entry to be deleted -- the deletion speed will increase as the number of Contact Alerts decreases.
