Default Duplicate Attendee Calendar Entries

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

Hope someone can assist and hope I have posted in the right forum.

Platforms

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version: 4.1.6.23 which was recently updated
MS Exchange 2007 SP1 Rollup 5

Problem Description:
Blackberry users create a meeting request on the Outlook Client (Outlook 2003 SP3) and send out the invitation successfully. When the owner\initiator of the meeting open's the original entry they get duplicate attendees. So basically if they were to send an updates it will get sent out twoce and will conflict with Free\Busy ionformation. Sometimes when they look at the meeting later the attendee will show up twice once as required and once as optional. The reason I'm posting this is because it definatekly has something to do with BES users as non-BES users do not experience this.

Steps:
I checked the BES service account permissions and all have checked out on both BES. Exchange and the domain. I only have one question with regards to teh permissions, does the BES aservice account require domain admin rights? I don't think it does but though I'd ask.

Please let me know if more information is required but hope someone can assist as I can't find anything really.

Hi,

This has been occuring for a while, probably since 2007 but only reported recently. The Device version vary btu I don't believe it is device related. Only reason I'm saying that is because while testing I did not assign a device to my name and so there was no Blackberry associated to it.

Thanks

Is it possible for you delete all the appointments off of the blackeberries and add them again or is this against company policy or will it take too long?

Sorry late reply.
I've found that CD.DLL and MAPI32.DLL files are different versions to what BES is.
Below is information on BES Version and mapi32.dll and cdo.dll versions:

BlackBerry Enterprise Server Version: 4.1.6.23
CDO.DLL Version: 6.5.7974.0
MAPI32.DLL: 6.5.7974.0

Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 SP1 with recent rollup update

CDO.DLL: 6.5.8039
MAPI32.DLL: 1.0.2536.0

Hub Transport Servers:
MAPI32.DLL: 1.0.2536.0

As you can see taht the MAP32.DLL are significally different. But my understanding of this is that BES uses it's own CD.DLL and MAPI32.DLL files and does not matter what versions are on exchange. I could be wrong though.

Do you know if these need to be updated or if teh BES ones are correct?
