Well once you get it tethered you can just go to any website that does tests.

Sorry I meant checking speed directly from the BB browser or is there an application that works well?

I just tested my speed with "mobilespeedtest.com" on the 9630 browser and got an average of 1.1mps. My qestion is for the guys that are tethering, which program are you using? I was told the 9630 didn't work tehering "direct" and you had to use a 3rd party app like Tetherberry. I dont get anywhgere near that speed while using tetherberry and windows IE. Is there a secret to tethering the 9630? I used my curve with Sprint SmartView for months without a hitch, speeds around 600-800. ANy tips for the Tour would be much appreciated.

I've seen others post that they are unable to use Sprint SmartView, but it works fine for me. I used it with my Curve and didn't have to change any settings when I plugged in my Tour to connect back in July.

Are you receiving an error message while attempting to connect with SmartView? Mine is set to Auto-Connect and recognizes my BB as soon as I plug it in.

Btw, Using Version 2.25.0046.0

I would also like to know if there are any tips using SmartView with the 9630. It wont recognize my phone. I get the message "No Device Connected".

There is a new version of SmartView coming out in a couple of weeks. Version 2.25.0047. Sprint tailored this version to fix issues with tethering the Tour. I have a copy of it from my (wonderful) Sprint team and am using it right now.

I'm going to have my manager test it tomorrow. She was having the same issue you were with her laptop not seeing her devicea at all.

Great and good to hear about the newer version, I had some problems with smartview as well. I am running Vista which I heard may cause some issues.
