Default Use 7100 on Mac and PC--or am I just nuts?

Please Login to Remove!

Long time palm user here. Trying to simplify my life by combining cell phone and palm.

Came across the BB 7100 via T-mobile and am intrigued.

I don't need email, internet or data for the BB. Just want good phone combined with pda.

I have a Mac at home running Panther and a Windows XP machine at work.

Is anybody syncing their BB7100 to outlook AND to a mac using Entourage? Am I asking for trouble?

Are the individual apps on the BB--to do list and memos--as robust as in the palm? I am not a heavy user, but don't want to go backwards either. Basically I write in todo's and put in basic memos.

BTW, go easy on me, this is my first experience with BB.

Thanks,

David

You're nuts.

If you don't need email, web or data... then the blackberry isn't for you.

Yes, i use both a Mac at home and PC at work. I downloaded a program called pocketmac, and it works great. I love the 7100t, and have been pleased that it has worked w/both systems. The pocket mac costs $30.

good luck

Just wanted to verify that I'm very happy with my T-Mobile 7100t and PocketMac sync'ing with my PowerBook.

I do hope they are working on a solution to be able to install software from my mac though.. kind of a pain having to install from my peecee.

I have been syncing between my 7100 and my powerbook. It works really well. The PocketMac folks did a nice job - it works with isync. As far as the 7100 as a pda, I actually think it is quite nice. No, the calendar isn't as robust as a palm, but it covers the basics well. It also has a nice view showing all your upcoming appointments. The "notes" in the 7100 sync with stickies on the mac, which I think is pretty nice.

Overall, I am very happy with the pda features in the 7100. It is also nice carrying around a nice phone with a good keyboard and pda functions in a relatively small/light package (when compared to a Treo)

I would suggest looking at a treo instead of a bb if you dont need the above, the treo is basically a palm with cell service..
