eh, the new 8330 isn't a dimes' difference from the old 8330. As a matter of fact, there is no such thing as a new and old 8330 -- they're both the same!

So anyways. Throw your phone across the room and see if that helps you find the Media icon.

Details, dude. What is it the hell you are looking for, the Media icon or some application?

I want to sync my contacts and have to go to Get It Now. The Verizon guy even told me what button to push and it gets me nowhere.

"Get It Now" I have ONLY seen when on App World on a PC, and you look at an app
a big button saying "get it now" takes you to a page to enter your PIN (or soemthing) to send a link to your phone to download the app.

Are you trying to get contacts from your old device to your new device?

Sounds like you have to find and download an app. By default there is no "Get it now" option in the menu. BTW, what does "Get it now" even do?

At some point someone needs to update the FAQ so to reflect that same handsets may have different featuresets available based on the carrier that they currently operate on.

And that menus/icons/settings/selections/keys might be different on different carriers.

Please write it.

The "Get it Now" is simply carrier software.

If the original poster here would actually form a complete sentence and ask a clear question, I am sure he'd be on his way by now.

What do you mean "stupid right hand arrow"? What do you need a right hand arrow for?

What did you have before the 8330, did you have another non-BlackBerry smartphone?

Indeed, the OP seems to struggle a bit in his attempts to form a comprehensive sentence. I wasn't referring to him though.

I've seen posts before of people that just don't realise that the Blackberry service is available in different carriers all around the planet and what THEY see on their screen is not necessarily what other people see when they operate their handset.

I just thought it needed a bullet point in the FAQ. No more, no less.

Please note that menus, language and selection options might be different across different carriers even on the same Blackberry model/series. Proprietary software that runs on specific carriers and extends or restricts the available featureset is also common.

Seems like Verizon needs to do a better job of documenting things.

The following is directly from the Verizon link the-economist provided in post #6:

Quote:
How to Get It

1. Open up the Get it Now browser by pressing the Get it Now arrow which is also the right navigation arrow on your handset.
2. Using your navigation arrow, scroll down to 3. Get Fun & Games, for Games or, 5. Get Going for Get Going applications and press the OK button.
3. Press the OK button while option 1. Get New is selected.
4. This will connect you to a list of games and applications that you can browse and immediately download to your phone.
I would suggest the OP contact Verizon.

GET IT NOW... seems some cool application by name. I hope it is fast and lead to authentic links only. Is there any user of that browser who may provide me the information about its success rate?

Get It Now may sound good, but it isn't all that.

Get It Now is a very basic Verizon tool to download "apps" to phones that don't use web browsers. It was on my Motorola flip phone that I used before my BB.

If you read the FAQ for Get It Now, it says it is for "Get It Now enabled phones" the BB is not a Get It Now enabled phone.

If you want to download apps from Verizon, use your web browser and point it to VZStart if it isn't set as your home page. You can download apps from there.

Verizon also created an App Store app. I refuse to download it. Too many of these sites are creating app store apps: Blackberry, Crackberry, Handango, etc. Even though they are small, cumulatively they add up to taking up too much memory. IMHO, there should only be one app store that all sites should use.
