Thumbs down 8310 does not recognize battery

Please Login to Remove!

hi,

I bought a Curve on ebay that didn't come with a battery and when I got it I popped in a GENUINE C-S2 battery it came up with the icon of the battery with the red line through it.

Like this: http://i253.photobucket.com/albums/h...AxNjEuanBn.jpg

I've tried many different batteries but same result. After a few tries though it finally recognizes the battery and performs normally.

Anyone experience this before?

I have an 8310 that I used until about 2 months ago (upgraded to my 9700). That looks to be the same image I had when my battery was drained too low to reboot. After charging for a few minutes, the phone starts up. The device in the photo looks to be plugged into a charger. Did you find charging the battery to be the remedy?

I think the icon you're talking about is the battery with the lightning bolt through it, that's the symbol for zero battery power and will start when it's charged...like here: Imageshack - 23102008cp0.jpg

the icon I'm talking about (red line) is when it doesn't recognize the battery in it, big DIFF...

No, the icon of a battery with a red line through it is what you see when the battery is not recognized (or when you plug the device in without a battery at all).

My guessing is that the battery leads on the blackberry that you bought on ebay are bad. If what you say is true, then im not sure there is anything you can do about fixing the leads, unless you take it into a really good cell phone shop to replace them.
