Default Bedside mode completely drained fully charged battery

I awoke this morning, waiting for my alarm to go off and low and behold, my brand spanky new Z30 was fully discharged, only the red battery of death symbol would come on.

Unless the battery is defective or the phone is constantly searching for a cell signal or you have an app running, it should not happen. Bring it back to the store and get a new battery. That should fix the issue unless the phone is defective.

Did you drop or get it wet?

If you had recently set up the BlackBerry, it could be possible that he phone was trying to sync all data such as contacts and email. If this is in a poor network zone, battery can drain rapidly.
