Default Restoring a wiped device (on BES)

Please Login to Remove!

My company switched email and BES providers about a week ago. I migrated with no issues except for duplicate contacts and a couple other nuances. I am traveling on business and do not have access to a pc for desktop mgr. I wiped my device and enterprise activated yesterday. For the first time ever my auto text, screen settings, etc. did not come over wirelessly. I'm on a 9650 with 6.0. If I get home and wipe again but then activate via desktop mgr shouldn't my items come back?

if you switched BES providers, those settings are gone.

You will need to get them back from a manual backup in desktop manager.

restore from back up. Follow this KB if needed http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB10339

We switched BES providers but I had all of what I am missing after we switched which makes me think they are still there just needing a wired activation.

UGH....just got home and wiped device again and then tethered via DM and reactivated. Same data no autotext, settings, etc. Is there something that I can call my BES admin and ask them to provide to me so I can get this data back?

There is no difference between wired and wireless Enterprise Activation when it comes to restoration of your settings.

Every few minutes, your BB makes an auto-backup of your settings to BES (only the delta). So if you have already been on the new system for a week, it should have auto-backed up your settings over-the-air (given the new BES has this setting enabled).

If you haven't done a manual backup of your device, before you wiped it and the auto-backup didn't work as well, you won't get them back, I guess. You should really check with your BES Admin, if auto-backup is switched on.

Why did you need to do a wipe? If it was because of the duplicate contacts, this was probably an overkill, you can do an RSET to delete just the contacts and re-sync them from the server.
