You also have to install the latest Bridge and BBM on your BlackBerry.

Your 9700 has to have the new version of;
Blackberry Bridge 1.0.0.88
BBM 5.0.3.22 or Beta 6.0.x.x

Your Playbook needs to have the latest OS, which I see by your post, that you already have.

Cheers,

Did you make sure you have the latest Bridge and OS installed on the device and Playbook?

Has this issue been fixed? If not, could you maybe post what versions of Bridge and PB OS you are running. Has it ever worked for you? Is this a new problem? If the BBM Icon isn't even showing, then I know right away one of your elements is not up to date.
Bridge will be 1.0.0.93 (either for OS 5 or OS 6)
Playbook OS should be 1.0.5.2304

One last question though, you can, I assume, already use BBM on your 9650?
