does everyone hav the same problem with typing names in on the home screen? like when you spell someones name it goes super slow and doesnt usually get all the letters in right? thats the only reason i have my left as adress book cause it just takes too long to find someone. i use to have it as app switcher but i use the alt key + the escape key to bring up the app switcher. its a fun shortcut to use for me
I use a zen them so everything else like calendar and sms are right there. Most of the sms i compose are replies, so "create new" isn't worth having as a convenience key. I lock my phone on a regular basis also, so that's important for me.
I had the address book assigned to the left key until I discovered that holding down the SEND key took me to a "Send from address book" display that lets me quickly find someone and call.
I'm not sure if its the same for the other models of blackberry but you can lock the 8130 by holding down the * key, so you don't waste a convenience key on on that.
