Question Hard Plastic Screen Cover/Case For The 9650?

Please Login to Remove!

Not the most important post here but I'm going to eventually move from an 8330 to the 9650. I'm currently using the Body Glove snap-on cover (see pic) for the 8330 which is the only case I've found that includes a hard plastic cover over the screen (unlike those annoying clear stickers applied by a credit card to eliminate bubbles, etc.). This hard plastic cover not only protected the 8330's screen against scratches, but also against impact. My unit still looks brand new. Being that the 9650 is not a touch screen device like the 8330, I would have thought that Body Glove or even another company would have developed something similar but I have searched high and low with no success. Does anyone know of a case similar to the one pictured?

UPDATE: I called Body Glove and they said too many people complained about the case's hard plastic screen cover scratching so they pulled it. That was the whole idea to protect the phone's screen from scratches and more importantly impact. The hell with the case itself. That can be replaced easier than taking apart the phone and putting on a new front I would assume? Anyway, they said they may bring it back sometime but if anyone knows of a current case that does the same, please let me know. Thanks.

I agree about the Otterbox Defender case when they are available.. Hands down the best money spent by me on my Tour. Hopefully they will make one for the 9650 too..

Not quite. I had a demo Defender case from Otterbox for the 8330. They don't have a hard plastic cover over the screen, only that preformed plastic that covers the buttons and the screen together to seal out water and protect against scratches. That doesn't protect impact to the screen. That case protects impact to the body only and not the screen itself (like most cases out there). Oh well...

The ones for the Tour do I have one and it has it. But if you rather believe it doesn't its your choice.

Defender cases for both the 9630 and the 9650 have the clear shield built into the front half of the case. Older models (83xx) depended on a vinyl skin that covered the screen and keyboard.

I was referring to the 8330 Defender.

I can't seem to tell from the photo all that well but does this have the KB plastic as well as a hard plastic shell for the screen?
