Default New Blackberry 8800 how does it work?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi i was given a blackberry 8800 from a family member, idk yet if i want to switch from my razr cell phone to the BB, i just wanted to ask a couple of questions which would help me to decide.

1. Does the BB 8800 have a easy way to change from ring to vibrate to silent?

2. Does the BB 8800 have a easy way to get to the phone book to dial a number?

-Also how do you turn this thing on, i tried holding down the green button, and nothing happened, i even tried pushing the other buttons everywhere, i charged the thing over night, idk why its not turning on, there was nothing wrong with it before it was given to me.

Yes and Yes and I haven't used it in a while but I think if you hold down the top right button.

1. Acutally about a three key press process to go from vibrate to silent.
Use Shortcuts! Home Screen Shortcuts - BlackBerryFAQ.com

2. Yes, hit the green phone key and start typing your name.

3. Top left button is power. Why would you ever turn it off.

My bad, wrong key.. I set my side key for profiles, so I guess for me it's quick.

unless your BB given to you was on a corporate BES, then you maybe stuck with a password.

Look again.

On the Options > Security > General Settings > on that screen, what do you see?

What is the IT Policy Name?

That means you have an IT Policy, which is forcing the password.

Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ.com

Good luck.
