Original Restore?? Possible??
Please Login to Remove!
I just posted yesterday about needing to reboot my 8330 phone.
I figured I should be more specific...
I want to do an original restore of my phone. I want to wipe it completely and restore it back to the original settings.
Is that possible?
Any help ould be great.
Thanks.

Read the FAQ article on wiping with Jl_cmdr. Do that and then restore the OS. Find the yellow sticky at the top of the 8300 section with the OS for your specific device. Follow the instructions exactly and be patient. It can take an hour or longer.
But why do you want to start all over?

For some reason, I am not getting emails like I should.
I synched everything up to my email, and now I am sporadically getting my emails and after synching things up, I lost all the email addresses in my work and yahoo email accounts. They are on the phone, but not in my accounts. But it also duplicated my contacts MULTIPLE times!!
I am kind of pissed about it. I have to restore everything in my emails, my phone. And again, i am not getting my emails through!

Have you tried a battery pull?
What did you do to the device just before this happened?

Battery doesn't wipe the phone.
All I did was synch up the email accounts with my phone.
I went in after I found out all the screwed up stuff and deleted my email accounts from my phone and rebooted my phone and when I reinstalled my emails, but did not synch them up, they were all still gone and screwed up!
First time this has happened. And kind of pissed. I am waiting to redo all my contacts because I want to just fix it back to the original restore/settings and start over.

Emails don't sync.
You get emails pushed from your inbox only, after setting them up.
Original emails in the inbox, and personal folders, are never pushed to the blackberry on BIS.

I know a battery pull doesn't wipe it. But it does fix a lot of problems. That is the first thing you should do if you have a problem.
And as for the wipe, I guess you didn't look very hard. It is right at the top,

The battery pull didn't fix anything.
As for the email issue, when you synch it, it will synch with your email contacts and that 's what it did, but it pulled them all from the net on the handset and unfortunately, none are on the net now.
Also when I synched, it screwed up my contacts I started to redo.
As for the searching for the wipe method, I did a search and it found nothing. I will have to try again with more details.

Therefore, you uncheck the box "sync contacts" in the edit part of the BIS.
The link above is how to wipe your device.

Not super thrilled here.
I am pretty technical and computer literate. But I am not able to wipe my phone.
I used the link, downloaded the Jl_cmder and tried it for over an hour. I ould not connect it and wipe it(option#4).
Also, I downloaded the OS for it, and there is no apploader file to find the vendor.xml file to delete it.
Now, like I said, I am not stupid but this is getting old!
Any suggestions?

Also, why not use the wipe feature on the handheld itself?
Does it not work as well or at all?
