im thinking of upgrading my 8820's firmware to 4.5
after deleting the vendor file and updating the device, will the device keep the current themes on there?

or how do i back them up?

Your only option is back them up and restore through your desktop manager. Note that the original themes may NOT be compatible and would NOT work.

i dont see the options to back them up in desktop manager

the only thing related i see is "Theme Settings"
but thats not the same thing as Themes, is it?

No. Did you purchase any themes? Again the issue is compatibility.

my 8310 backed up all programs, messages, data, contacts, and themes and restored them all after it was done upgrading. like he said though, some 4.2/4.3 themes are not compatible with 4.5 firmware.

your best bet is to switch your active theme to one of the BB dimension themes before upgrading, do the upgrade, and then try each individual theme after the upgrade to check compatibility. all of my previous themes worked with 4.5, but i ended up liking the 4.5 themes better anyway, so i don't use the old ones anymore.

ah ok thanks for the info
i have Telefonica Zen theme on it right now and it is my favourite out of all of them

but like u said, not all 4.2 themes work with 4.5 so ill just upgrade and see
