I was under the impression that the original M-S1 battery is 1550mAh.

Even it the original is only 1500mAh, a 1650mAh battery is far from a 15% improvement.

I thought I saw somewhere that there is an aftermarket battery at 1700 mh out there currently.

I would only use a battery from RIM or a reputable after-market shop like Seidio. Those cheap crap chinese knockoffs can destroy your BB and even start a fire.

According to GSM Phone Source the Bold comes with a 1500 mAh battery.

9% seems to be the key number. And for the same price as an OEM battery. I'm afraid I don't see the value.

Yes, we are in the process to develop this battery. It will more than double the capacity of the stock battery. It requires the new door.

1650 vs ...150% (1500x1.5 = 2200 Mah?>

*cough* false advertising?

Does this fit in the RIM standalone battery charger?

Original post says up to 15%, it doesn't say 150%. But still, 15% of 1500 is 225, which should be 1725mAh. 1650 is only a 10% increase.

Sorry for the confusion guys, but I'm afraid rating batteries is not quite that simple. There are many factors that go into how much extra time you'll get out of a battery.

We've had some batteries that fall lower than our expectations and some that come in higher. That is why we list the "up to" percentage.

This battery is designed to be a replacement with a little more power than the original. For some of you, this will be perfect as you'd rather swap the battery mid-day and maintain the Bold's looks. For the rest of you, we will have our larger capacity battery very soon.

Thanks,
