Just to be sure, is TeleNav activated on your account as a service?
I would be outside when doing the initial setup of TeleNav as I never have success with it indoors but it works wonderfully in my car or outside.
The 4-digit PIN should be the last 4 digits of your phone #. You can go to
TeleNav - Always find your way! and login with your phone # and that PIN and setup your "MyAccount". If you did not input your PIN correctly, you may have just gotten the stall screen where it seems to be trying but doing nothing, backlight goes out, etc and nothing ever happens.
Try being outdoors, using the correct PIN (assuming you have TeleNav as a paid service on your account) to setup TeleNav on your phone. The first sync may take a few minutes so give it time.
On the exit thing, it seems there is no "close" option for TeleNav, which irks me a bit. You just hit the back button to close the program.
Oh, and the "star and send button" to unlock is a feature of the 8800 where you cannot unlock by just choosing "unlock". I am not a fan of this as it seems a bit counterintuitive to me.
