Depends on how you plan to use the device and what your requirements are.

I have come the other way and traded my iPhone 4 in for the Blackberry Bold 9900 without regret.

The iphone is a great piece of kit but is more of a swiss army knife than a phone, the Blackberry for me offers the following advantages:

1. A quality tactile Qwerty keyboard that is superb (not happy with virtual one on iPhone)
2. Superb messaging & Email characteristics with a faster delivery than iPhone on same network
3. Better signal and call quality than the iPhone
4. More secure for corporate use

After owning iPhones since launch, I realised I was using them for games/videos/music and not for communication so my monthly costs were not being utilised for effective communication but more for downloads/apps etc.

I got to the point where I decided I wanted a small tactile phone that I would use for communicating and the 9900 does that better than any phone I have owned to date, add to that the almost instant Email / messaging and non voice communication is a breeze when voice is not practical - plus, I can now get a quality signal in areas the iphone would not!

At last a phone that does what it is supposed to rather than encouraging me to do things I don't need to do!

It's because of the screen ratio and number of pixels.

I'm getting a little gun shy after reading some the post about problems with the 930. if I were getting it from sprint, with a 30 day trial I have no problem trying it. but on a trade I get one chance.

Then don't get it. I used my 9900 for only two months before going back to my iPhone.

apple does a great job of putting training wheels on everything they make, so easy even a monkey can operate it. the other smartphones have more options in their apps which some find difficult.

we could go on for days about what is better, it about what is better for you.

list what you want to do and then choose which one fits the bill better

well I went and did it and got the 9930 on sprint. now I'm the process of setting it up, boy how much I forgot. and were things were.
1 can you still hide icons you don't want to see.
2 and I use to be able to get all my message in one email box is this possible
3 and will it sync with gmail or outlook I prefer outlook
4 up date there one setting there should I install it.
5 case is a little chesses my one with the 9630 was better wonder if it will fit and be secure.
6 and the apps that made this decision to come back says my password is not correct which it is any thoughts on that
thanks.. I'm sure there will a few more question as I get into the phone.

1 can you still hide icons you don't want to see. YES
2 and I use to be able to get all my message in one email box is this possible YES
3 and will it sync with gmail or outlook I prefer outlook Either one, gmail can be done over the air
4 up date there one setting there should I install it. YEs updates can usually be good
5 case is a little chesses my one with the 9630 was better wonder if it will fit and be secure. The case might not fit as teh 9930 is wider and magnet might not be in same place
6 and the apps that made this decision to come back says my password is not correct which it is any thoughts on that you mean BBID? you can reset it via a PC if need be.
thanks.. I'm sure there will a few more question as I get into the phone.
congrats on the new device.

You can get an extended battery or something like a Mophie Juicepack, but that's cumbersome. The battery was a big reason I went back to iPhone from my 9900. RIM still has yet to figure out how to manage power on touchscreen devices. It's been bad since the 9500 series. My 9900, on a 2G network, would still only manage 6 hours or so with only a few phone calls and maybe 20 e-mails and SMS.

Looks like you app is killing the battery

On device go to Options, Device, Application Management is a great way to see what your apps are doing with your CPU usage on Smartphone. Just slide top bar to CPU and see what is going on. Also touch the CPU menu to see other time variables. I found out that an app was eating away CPU cycles on mine

Disable Compression on media card? go to Options, Device, Storage

remember the esc key closes most apps, except for GPS and some chat clients. the other apps need to use menu and then exit or close. The farthest key to the right is a home key and does not close any apps per se but will end calls.
