The BB bold and BB 8900 and BB curve are all very good. For curiosity i tested the storm and it was also very poor!

Rim! what is going on. Are all new BB going down in quality?
I can 100% Confirm that the voice quality on my Tour is the best I have had of any blackberry, heck probably one of the best phones I have had on Verizon. On top of that, you have to love the additional volume you get over bluetooth as well ... Wow my earpiece cranks!

Well if some long time members are saying there getting very good call quality on there new Tours, I guess there must be a bad batch? As anyone with the call quality issue did a swap yet from either carrier? It does indeed seem the good feedback is out weighing the bad, which only leads me to believe some bad units must have leaked out.

I was the first in line to get mine on launch, mine does have the loose battery door issue, however I have a silicon cover over it, so it doesn't matter.

One more for Verizon. Sounds great to me. I would bet it's the same phone for Verizon and Sprint. Just the OS is different.

Using the word "confirmed" in the title is a bit ostentatious wouldn't you say?

For unknown reasons, every Blackberry that came after the 8703, has had a losse battery door. My pearl had it, my 8800 series, my 8300 series, and more recently, my Bold, my 8900 series, and now the Tour! Lol...U would think RIM would have caught on by now, and figured out that we hate moving parts on our devices, namely battery covers!

No issues with call quality or the speakerphone here...on VZW.

I have had a few bad experiences with the 83xx, 87xx and 88xx series, but I can attribute those to bad speakers (83xx), bad coverage location, or the caller on the other end was either on BT or also on speakerphone.

The question is OP when you were testing these 3 different Tours were you calling the same number? Maybe the person you were calling had terrible service and that led to the crappy call quality.

I am on Verizon also, certianly don't work for them, and mine sounds fine and I also love the extra volume I get from the BT. My BT died last night and I switched to the corded headset. I had to turn it down. It was too loud. I usually didn't have that as a problem with the curve.

Actually my phone quality (the other party - not me) is not up to snuff.

Whatever - I'll deal with it.

Can a mod edit the thread title? "Confirmed" makes it sound like the issue has been acknowledged by the carriers and/or manufacturer.

Wirelessly posted

Confirmed! As if RIM has announced a deficiency.

On my 3rd Tour since Sunday. While incoming voices sound clear, persons on the other end (including verizon store employees and verizon tech support) all report a muffled quality to my voice, only when talking directly on the bb, not via speakerphone or headset. Very frustrating.
