Default Quick Fixes for Two .99 Glitches

Please Login to Remove!

Since I loaded .99 I have encountered two glitches that occasionally occur.

#1. Full portrait Qwerty appears on home screen and can't be hidden again.

Normally you just tap the BB key and select "hide keyboard". However during the glitch it sends you to the full application menu and the qwerty returns when you exit. I got the Qwerty to go away by pressing the BB key, selecting "options", and changing the row setting in my Home Screen layout. Once you change the setting and exit, the Qwerty is gone. Then you just go back and reset it to your favorite row setting.

#2. While in Yahoo messenger, the application occasionally freezes while navigating the application.

For me I always freeze in the same area. I have the menu open to end a particular conversation and the Storm wont accept the action. The window stays open and the backup key won't work to exit the window. I usually am able to hit the hang up or end key (far left) and exit the application while its still running. If you use the power off key on the touch screen, you are able to power up and the Yahoo application logs off. You can simple log back on and you are back in business without a battery pull.

Hopes this helps some of you.

For some reason my .99 upgrade automatically reset the home screen to 2 rows (from one row).

Could it be that some upgrades automatically take the issue into account and do the reset for you?

I don't think so. Two rows is the factory setting.

However each Storm has its own quirks. You'll see that after reading through this forum for a while.

Lightbulb Hide Keyboard on Home screen

I have experienced the same issue with the keyboard sometimes showing up on the home screen. You have to go to the full home screen in order to get it to go away. I can't help you with the Yahoo IM problem as I don't IM. 73
