it's about time for a leak, but unfortunately there is a wealth of install problems people are having over at crackberry...no signs of any successful installs...

Post back if you got one!

I installed it this morning with no problems and running it now -- all the details should be in here.

blackberryforums.com/general-9500-series-discussion-storm/198203-leaked-os-5-0-0-140-blackberry-storm-9530-a.html

I have noticed on how much quicker it is compared to the slower OS versions.

5.0 is quicker than what version?

If 5.0 is faster than 4.7.0.151 I'll be ecstatic. .151 was blazing fast (and stable) in my opinion!

I never tried .151, but in terms of speed, this OS is amazing. New features are great, (tabs, updated menu's, new system software etc.)

With the phone, if you turn on the keyboard, it will auto stay on, and not sure if I just missed this before, but there was a settings option to auto enter your password as well (I found this under a new system option, although it seems to have a bit longer of a pause than I would prefer).

New layouts and transitions all around, very crisp design.
No complaints here, although it is a fresh install (failed first install, tried again, no problems), but I see no immediate reasons to go back to .148

Great OS, I'm enjoying it.

I did a wipe and full clean install of 5.0.0.140, and at first the OS was great! Good speeds, seemed stable and pretty effects. However, once I started installing apps I started getting App errors, and not just from one or two apps. It seemed half (of ~20 apps) would crash the phone after only a short usage. I don't blame RIM for this at all, it's mostly the app developers fault, but then again, it's still a beta OS with no SDK, so it's no supprise.

Long story short, I wiped my phone and went back to 4.7.0.151 for now. Hopefully the Storm 2 will be out soon and I can just upgrade right to 5.1.x.x!

I tried it but I couldn't get a browser even after resending the service books a few times.... Back to 4.7.0.151 with BBM 5 until this gets a little better..... looking forward to it tho!

Cheers,
Chris

I haven't been able to load it... Doesn't register as valid software for my storm... Looks right... 86'd vendor.xml... just no load... Shame, I wanted to play!
