Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
Please Login to Remove!
Hi guys, I am new here and I have went through a couple of posts about nuked blackberrys and how to fix them, and apparently the most comfortable one I found was the one using application loader and then clicking next when the device is spotted by the PC.
In my case, The red LED flashes twice and then it pauses, and then it keeps repeating this for ever.
My problem is that I am trying this method and it does not work for me... the BB automatically restarts while the application loader is detecting and trying to connect to it.
I hope I explained my case clearly, in case more info is needed please let me know.
I hope you guys can help me... Please.
Thanks

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
Go to the FAQ section . there you will find various methods to replace the OS. The LED indicates an OS issue.
Down load to your PC Desktop manager and the OS for your model. Work from the PC not over the air. Two applications in the FAQ section, JL_cmdr and Swiss Army Knife are very good and used by a lot for the same problem you have.

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
There is a sticky at the top of the Help section on what to do if the BB fails to connect. There is a FAQ article on what to do if Jl_cmdr fails to connect.
BBSAK is also an option to try - BB Swiss Army Knife

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
Thank you very much for your help.. i took a look at them and i hope it will work =)
but when it comes to downloading the OS, i am a little bit confused... my BB is originally unlocked... so what OS should i download... in the download page it requires me to choose a carrier.. so should i just go with anyone of the carriers in my country? or it will be locked to that carrier afterwords?

Use the latest version. Do not worry about the carrier. Follow the instructions to the letter.

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
As NJ said, pick the latest as long as it is for your specific device, i.e. a 9780 OS will not work on a 9700.

Look at the top of the 9700 Device specific forum
The link, and detailed instructions, are there.

Are you using a data cable and not a power only cable?

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
What did you do to the device right before this happened?? Drop it or get it wet perhaps? Loaded an app or theme? Or just tried to load the OS?

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
just trying to update the OS and during that it was disconnected from the laptop..
could it be that laptops have weaker USB connection than PCs.. If i try it on a desktop will it make a difference? or maybe a macbook?

Re: Nuked BB 9700 unable to be restored
Can't do an OS update on a MacBook unless it is one pushed from your carrier.
As long as you are using a powered USB port, the laptop or PC either one should work. But try the PC. Make sue you are using Desktop Manager version 6. V 7 is a bit buggy right now.
