When you reply to an email it should use the address that received the email to send. You cannot change this address AFAIK.

If you're referring to composing a new email, you can change the default in Options > Advanced Options > Default Services > Messaging (CMIME) = your Hotmail address.

I got the 8900 the other day and I won't even let me add an existing email account that I have...why is this? It only gives me the option of setting up a work email with BB enterprise.
Also, i can't get BB messenger working. I'm regretting getting this phone

Do you have a BlackBerry data plan?

I used these instructions and came to the conclusion that it still bypasses the default e-mail setting and uses the address that I used last when e-mailing that particular person.

can anyone else confirm this?

BUT, when I e-mail a "new" person, it will use the default e-mail address I had chosen.

Yes, that is correct. Say my default is [email address], but I email Bob from [email address]; the next time I email Bob, it will be from [email address]. If I email Jack, it will be from my default [email address].

It will be like that until I change the email address when I email Bob again.
