So when I started up the BB this morning I received two e-mails from Earthlink.

Both say exactly the same thing:

"Congratulations, you have successfully setup with your BlackBerry device. You should begin receiving new messages in approximately 20 minutes."

I set up the Earthlink email three weeks ago and have not had any problems.

Why the confirmation email now??? Also, I had not checked emails since 9pm last night and should have had several dozen this morning.

I turned on my laptop when I got home this afternoon and 25 or so e-mails from last night through this morning downloaded.

Why did they not load this morning at 7am when I turned on the BB?

The only change I made was Thursday night I turned on AIM and added my account.

Also, out of the blue an icon for Facebook showed up on my 'favorite 4' icons on the desktop and I have never used facebook.

Any thoughts?

This just happens once in a while. I've had it happen with GMail. Not sure why it happens.

The facebook icon is pushed by the service providers. Unfortunately, nothing unusual there.

Sounds like the BB re-registered. Maybe to push the icon all the service books were sent. Is there another email account on the BB that you did not receive an activation message for?

I received 2 notifications from Earthlink but they were for the same account....of which I only have one.

Just seems odd that it wouldn't check mail from before I turned it on this morning.
