Smile Password problems

Hello all,here's my problem,I have a 8310 and i can't take off my phone password(not the sim card password),i can change it but can't take it off so if someone could help me it would really be appreciated.Thanks.

Is your device still connected to a corporate BES system? Or did you buy the device used and it's been like that ever since you got it?

If it's your personal device and not connected to a corporate BES system then you can remove the IT policy on it. I recommend upgrading to OS 4.5 and then using Method 1 of this post:

Is there a small red lock next to it?

Are you on a BES? If you are on a corporate BES you have an IT policy preventing you from removing the password

Where did you get this BlackBerry? Is it connected to a company BlackBerry server?

Yes, once it's unlocked it will always be unlocked. You can never lock it again, even if you wanted to.
