I have the answer, bin the blackberry and get a decent phone! Guess this is y they r becoming so unpopular.

Yes, you have to pay for what you get so that does make them unpopular. You go get yourself a decent phone....

The androids are faster on the net, and in general and reliably get online too.
Judging from the hundreds of similar posts to mine many people are having trouble.

Check out the Nokia E71 if you really don't want a BlackBerry data plan. No, it's not nearly as good as a real BlackBerry, but I used on on T-Mobile with nothing but the basic carrier data plan called TZones. $4.99/month on top of my basic minutes plan.

Thanks Rambo47, my friend has a great android and I think that is the way I'll go. Not on a plan at all and overseas so getting plan is just not practical.

As for Mortorcycle Mama, classy lady you seem, I have never had issues with other phones, or computers btw. The data issues should be told to buyers upfront (they were not), when these issues arise when you are abroad it is a real pain and waste of money.

beckbb, you need to find what works for you. The BlackBerry is not a phone; it has a phone. That's not good or bad, just is. You are right that BlackBerrys are sold by some outlets as just another smart phone, and that's a shame. But all the more reason to research your purchase. Best of luck.
