Default Upgrade BES LOTUS

Please Login to Remove!

hi all,
i need some info to upgrade a bes for lotus 5.0 to SP1.
the db server is on a dedicated sql server
i will organize the activity like this:
backup BES db
backup BES
upgrade with SP1

should i upgrade the sql server too or the upgrading process will launch by itself scripts to upgrade the db?
is there anything else i should care about?

thanks all

The BES upgrade will automatically update the schema of the configuration database in SQL. You must make sure that the account you are running the upgrade with has SA rights to the SQL server during the upgrade.

If your SQLDBA team does not allow you this level of access (even temporarily) then the SQL update can be done independently prior to upgrading the BES code. Consult the Upgrade/Admin guides for how to do this.

there are 2 folders to backup,

c:\program files\ibm\lotus\domino\data\bes
c:\program files\ibm\lotus\domino\data\mail

you will need both to recover your enviroment, if a crash happen.

You should backup everything in the Domino program/data directory using whichever method you prefer in case you need to re-install Domino. A file copy of the folders is sufficient.
