I was testing the BES Express just to see what cool things I can do with it. I set a password on a device, then realized that it locks after 15 minutes and the user cannot answer phone calls.





I realized that was bad, so I changed the IT Policy to not require a password, and set it to 60 minutes just in case.



The password policy is still in effect. I pushed the IT policy down, it shows that it has applied the policy, but the device is still asking for a password every few minutes.



The device locks after roughly 3 minutes, not the 15 I had originally set it for.





The device is a Blackberry Bold.



Edit: Why doesnt the policy take effect? How do I stop it from asking for a password short of removing the IT Policy and wiping the device?

Set the policy and options to allow the phone to receive calls when locked.

the policy should not deny answer calls while is locked. Can you make a of the Default policy, and set true the Password Required value?

If you change the IT policy to a more relaxed one, that does not mean, the devices settings are also changed. Also, some defaults apply.
If the devices settings were: no password, but, if password, lock after 3 minutes, and you set the policy, the password will be enforced, and even If the policy forces a 30 minutes minimum, the device will lock after 3 minutes.

If you change the policy back, the devices settings are still present. You have to change that on the handheld.

Tell the user to disable the password in the device security options. (Options -> Security Options -> General settings).
