Default Problem with 8330 and Windows 7 usb operation

Please Login to Remove!

Have Windows 7 Pro PC and BB 8330 (Device Manager 5.0.1.28)...every time I click the W7 usb removal/disconnect/eject icon I get the following error:

The 'Rim Blackberry SD USB Device' device is not removable and cannot be ejected or unplugged"

Have read where improper sub disconnecting from Windows USB port can damage/corrupt data and or usb device ?

Is there a patch or correction for my 8330 and/or Windows Seven so the BB is recognized and allowed to properly "eject" from Windows Seven usb ports ?

Thanks...

Make sure your device is not currently transmitting information to/from the computer, make sure it is set to the home screen, then unplug it. All you're experiencing is a Windows quirk. My W7 doesn't do that though

i plugged my phone into windows 7. my 8330 never even got recognized. burned out the usb port. had to get a replacement phone. couldn't even come home and use the wall charger anymore. the screen would light up. but that was it. no charge. and no more pc sync.

Windows 7 was not the cause of your port going bad.
We have several PCs using 7 and Blackberry devices work fine.
I would make sure you download and install the latest version of Desktop Manager.
Also, if you don't use Mass Storage on the Blackberry, turn it to Prompt instead of always on. May help with the disconnect problem.

I agree. I use my 8330 with windows vista, windows 7, and windows XP, never had any problems.
When I bought my 8330, I read many threads about bad USB ports, so I bought a charging dock to reduce wear and tear on my USB port.

the phone i had was just replaced with a brand new in box. right before the model got discontinued. only 4 weeks old. there are 5 other complaints with the same thing. AND. not only did my phone quit. so did A camera.

i was actually thinking of some sort of power problem with the board. but when you see other complaints. has me wondering now.
