Default Verizon 8703 on Sprint Network?

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry to bug everyone, but im kinda a noob to a lot of this stuff. I can get my hands on a cheap verizon BB but Sprint is my carrier. So can i use that Verizon BB on the Sprint network if i just change the OS on it? I know the Verizon phone doesnt have GPS but i dont really care about that. Thanks.

tx4wheel,

Unfortunately, no. Sprint will not activate any device that is does not have the Sprint logo on it. This has been asked over on a popular Sprint forum quite a bit. To the point they have even made it a sticky.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but that's just how it is.

Are you a new customer, or eligible for an upgrade? The 8703e is going for $199.99 on Sprint, after savings and mail-in rebates.

That is one of the really nice things about GSM (as long as you have an unlocked device anway -- which generally isn't difficult).
