Default RIM / PocketMac class action lawsuit?

Please Login to Remove!

"Pocketmac sucked when pocketmac had it, it sucks still now that RIM has it. There is a class action lawsuit against RIM because Pocketmac DOES NOT WORK."
www . tuaw com /2006/12/14/blackberry-folk-rejoice-pocketmac-available-from-rim

Is there really a class action lawsuit about this?

Let me get this straight... Someone wants to sue RIM over the lack of functionality for a product that RIM gives away for FREE??? I don't see this lawsuit going too far.

This is the first I have heard about any lawsuit over PocketMac. The original poster did not back up his statement with any links or detail. I don't know if its true or not, but I would chalk it up to an unfounded rumor until more details are brought to light.

yeah... they *do* advertise mac compatibility on their http://www.discoverblackberry.com/di..._solutions.jsp page, but seeing how the product does exist and work in some very rare ideal circumstances (even if not consistently), i'd think a lawsuit would hold up.

however, if you do honestly feel that RIM or your mobile carrier misrepresented the phone's compatibility with your computer, i'd suggest complaining to your state's attorney general's office as a first step.

Default I tried to make it work but end up uninstalling PocketMac.

This PocketMac software is just too much trouble. I cant wait until iPhone is out. It will be able to syncronize to the Mac, plus have an awesome mp3 player + browser. I will pay T-Mobile to get out of the contract and will go to Cingular when it comes out.

Default Missing Sync coming

Don't know if you missed the announcement through all of the iPhone stories coming out of Macworld, but Markspace software has announced that they are testing and soon to release a version of their MissingSync for BB. The screen shots look amazing and functional, much cleaner. This was the only software that worked for me when I was forced to use a Windows Dumbphone for about 6 months. Be so glad to rid myself of this Pocketmac headache.
