Default TIVO & Video on Bold...Did you know!

Please Login to Remove!

Guys,
Just an FYI in case you don't know this is possible...Tivo to Bold!

With Tivo and Tivo desktop software "plus" (about $20 upgrade on the free Tivo desktop software), you can auto download shows you record on Tivo to your PC and you have the option to auto convert to several formats.(Note: Tivo must be on a home network and running off a cable/tv setup, I don't believe Tivo desktop works with Satellite Tivo Systems.)
I have mine converting the downloaded files to H.264 compatible format. You can then have all the videos your heart desires or those you can record off of TV/movie channels, etc...
I've been doing this for my Ipod and have many, many gigs of tv shows and movies. This is a fantastic program, simple to use and will give you an endless supply of shows.

Another great feature of the Tivo Desktop program. You can Auto Transfer (lets say Mythbusters) and every time your Tivo records a Mythbuster show your PC will download and convert automatically. Its like having a mini video producing company working on your behalf. Sweet

File Size estimates: An hour long show converted to .mp4 will run about 356MB.
4GB card will give you about 10-11 hours of video.. Not bad

BTW, just took a nice drive with the kids and had several of their shows on my Bold and had to fight with them to get it back.. Hmmm. maybe this wasn't such a good idea to share with the family...

Great information...you should not have shared your phone with your kids.
I tell mine that it's for business only...that is, until I use it for my own pleasure!

Is there any way to change the resolution of the output? I'm getting video significantly smaller than what the screen is capable of displaying. I've tried Mp4, iPod, and H.264 and they all appear in the same resolution.

Thanks!

I have been using the TiVo Desktop Plust to convert to Ipod videos. When I try to take the iPod formated video and drag it through Win Explorer to my 8330 Curve it does not play. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to use Roxio to convert to an "optimal format" or convert the video again? I really want to be able to use the same video file for an iPod or my Curve? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
