1. GPS - I went to the map application, then options, and for "GPS Source" my two options were "none" or "my user name", I selected "my user name" and now it has been "searching for satellites..." for about 10 minutes, any tips to get the GPS working?

2. Email - I have attempted to link my gmail account to my blackberry without success, I have followed the instructions on gmail's site (re: imap.gmail.com etc.), yet am still unable to access my account via my blackberry.

PS I have the curve titanium, and the 19.99 plan.

Also, as for the WiFi, I attempted to connect to my home network (comcast ISP/linksys router), which is a secure network, with no success, and I am 99% sure I have the passkey correct, any ideas?

Regarding the GPS: If you're with T-Mobile, I assume you have the 8320. This device does not have GPS built in. It has WiFi instead. The reason it gives you the option to use GPS is because you can connect an external Bluetooth GPS puck to the device and use that.

GMail: I don't use it, so I'm not that familiar with it.

WiFi: It's pretty straight forward. If it is a secure network, then I would guess that you are entering the passkey incorrectly.

Gmail works fine with my 8320 on T-Mo...have you went through the email setup on you BB...if it is recent then you may give it a few for the service books to be sent and such..sometimes the provisioning takes a bit

1. The 8320 from T Mobile doesn't have a built in GPS.

2. Set up Gmail for IMAP access. It sounds like you already have. Then, go to my.t-mobile.com and log in. Scroll down to the "Communication Tools" section. In that block you will see a link to "Set up BlackBerry Internet e-mail". Once you are in there, click on the "Set up Account" button and put in the appropriate info. (Bonus Tip: If you ever need to resend your service books, that is on the left side in this area)
Of course, all of this can be done from your phone, but it is a lot easier doing it this way.

3. TEMPORARILY disable the security on your wireless access point. Make sure you can connect with your Curve, THEN RE-ENABLE the security. That way, you can make sure that you can actually make the connection and it isn't a hardware issue or something else.

Thanks for all the responses so far, disappointing to learn that GPS is not available (as is, without an add on). So...couple more questions.

Messages, I have 1k messages a month, what actually counts as messages? google talk? AIM? blackberry messenger? I would assume/hope these are data.

Progams? I have opera mini for a browser, and google maps, any other essential programs out there?

If you use the built in IM app I think it uses text...the third part programs will use data...BBM uses data, and not sure about google talk....best thing to do is wait a few days and log onto your T-Mobile account online and see what are coming as text messages

Try Wobly's suggestion 1st. I also had problems with Linksys Router/Comcast. Linksys WRT54G - I had to update the firmware (avail. via Linksys website - I can't post the URL as I have less than 10 total posts... google linksys wrt54g firmware blackberry, should get you there)
It worked... for about a day. I'm not sure what prevented later access, but I got fed-up and went with T-MO router which was basically free. $39.00 with $39 rebate.. Have been cruising via UMA ever since. The thing that angers me is that T-Mo's router is exactly the same model (i.e. WRT54G) as the one I got rid of. Your mileage may vary...
