After upgrading 3 Curves to 4.5.0.69, one of the blackberries is insisting on a password of at least 5 characters. The others are okay with 4. All 3 Blackberries had passwords of 4 characters with 4.2.2.

Has anyone seen this? Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Sorry, I was just about to edit my thread, when you beat me to the question!
All 3 are BIS, purchased brand new. There were no IT policies set on any of these.

Also, none of these devices had this problem with 4.2.2

Of course, after syncing another of the 8310s today, it, too, would no longer allow a 4 character password. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Okay. One of these is fixed now, and I'm about to try the other.. I *believe* I had a very old policy.bin in my BB folder. Why it got activated now is beyond me. I upgraded 2 8310s on my pc, so they both got hit with this old policy. Odd, though, that in the intervening year or so, I didn't have this problem. I downloaded the IT Policy linked in the instructions at: Remove IT Policy - BlackBerryFAQ, et voila!

I hope you didn't apply a new policy, but removed the policy using the "resettofactory" command.

D'oh! No, but it seemed to work (everything is backed up already, and I didn't wipe my bb). I'll try it tomorrow, though.

The resettofactory command is a better way to go if you have OS 4.3 or higher on the device. Some devices still require the old fashioned way, though, so that method is still valid for the older devices.
