Default problem syncing with outlook after OS upgrade

Please Login to Remove!

hey I upgraded my OS to 4.5.0.69 without any problem. the only issue is that the blackberry changed my calendar entries to a different profile name. so now when I want to sync to outlook, it wants to delete my entries in outlook, probably because the profile that's on the blackberry that has the appointments is the new default profile, instead of the profile that was sync'd before.

so how do I fix that? I changed the defult profile for new appointments, but what's the best way to move the existing appointments back so outlook doesn't lose them. i only have 1 outlook profile, and I'm running outlook 2003, win XP

thanks

curve 8320, OS 4.5.0.69

Welcome to the Forums.

Are you in a personal BIS email account that has more than one email setup to push to the BB?

This should be your solution.

Hi, thanks
yes I am on BIS.
The problem isnt' with the email accounts. It's with the calendar. When I reinstalled the OS, the bb set up a different default email account for the calendar and put all the existing entries under that profile. But it's not the one I would have chosen :(

So now when I sync the calendar, outlook doesn't see any calendar entries for the its associated profile on the bb. that's why I think the sync wants to delete all the entries from outlook.

edit: all my calendar entries are on the BB, but under a different email (profile) than the one associated with outlook.

1 am a single person not a business, so I have 1 profile for outlook and the same 1 for bb.
I have the other email addresses in the bb, just to check the email. everything else I do, I want hooked up under the 1 main email address.

But your solution is still in getting those calendar events ON the correct email profile. That FAQ discusses this. I know, it happened to me, which was why I wrote the FAQ.

Go to Options > Advanced > Default Services and look at each email profile, and you will/should find the calendar entries. Select the proper one and sync to Outlook, make sure Outlook is up-to-date, and follow the FAQ directions.

ok, to make sure I understand-
you want me to change the default calendar one from the one I want it to be, back to the one that has the calendar entries- sync, backup, then follow the faq?

Yep. You will be fine... it will work. I have been there.

You will end up with your correct email profile as the default calendar in the end, but you have to change it to the wrong one (with all the entries) in order to get it right, first.
