Default newbie - curve qs and battery issue

Please Login to Remove!

Hi everyone! Please forgive me if these questions are silly n easy to fix for you, I'm a lil slow at using my phone (7 months to figure out I could go from the last text to the top text with short cuts instead of having to scroll! )

Anyways.. first question.. if you get the battery depleted message how long does it need to stay on the charger? I charged it for 8 hours at work yesterday, plus over night, and all day today and still nothing, ATT is sending me a new battery by Friday, but Im seriously going crazy without a phone.. Did I kill it by letting the battery get down that far? I know its recieving a charge, because I did a search on here and some other people had the same things as me, the battery with the lightning bolt.. all that.. but I just hope I didnt screw up my phone..

second question.. I dont use mine for email .. bought the phone when I was still in a management position, that basically required us to have it (my dm was crazy!), quit n liked the phone so I kept it..only thing is I hate how the calendar is set up on here, I tired doing a search online and here and the more I read the more I confuse myself.. is there some program I can buy/dl/is probably on the cd that came with my phone..to type all my events/school stuff is on my computer and then like import it over to my phone?

third question... pulling the battery ( I've been lurking on your boards for a few days searching) is this something I should do even if I basically use my phone for text messages, calls, n storing notes from class..

last question! (yay right?) is there a way to have the screen light up when you get a text? I pretty much keep my phone on silent for school/work and it would be easier to see a text come in with a lit screen vs. the lil light on the phone..

bah.. I should probably buy one of those dummy books about the phone..

Thanks for any an all help!

1. That should have been pleanty long enough to get a charge back into your battery, a new one is probably the answer.

2. You can use Outlook to sync you calender from PC to BB

3. Yes, not a bad idea to do about once a week

4. Not sure, but BBAlerts might do this. I could be wrong on this one.
