Default Battery issues and OS 6

Please Login to Remove!

I recently switched from a 9700 on ATT to a 9650 on Verizon with OS6. The first battery I had gave me less than 5 hours before going dead and always ran pretty hot. I then got a new battery to see if it was the battery or the device and I still only get about 10 hours of life from a battery with minimal calls and far less use than I had on my 9700. I can't believe I can't even get a full day. It makes it hard to keep. Any thoughts?

The first question in this case is always about what apps you are running that might be hitting the network all the time. Is it possible that on the 9700, your apps were set to fully exit when closed, but when you switch to the 9650 you left the apps at default setting to run in the background when closed?

Or, are you running apps on the 9650 that you did not run on the 9700, and those apps are running and hitting the network frequently?

All apps are the same. Does OS 6 treat them differently? Is there some way to set them to fully exit when closed vs. run in background? What is easiest way to check what is running in background? On 9700 ribbon showed what was still running but now it seems to show most recent apps including those that have closed.
