Default Need help trying to upgrade OS from .114 to 4.6.1.206 on my 8900

Please Login to Remove!

OK this is the first time that i have tried to up grade my OS. I'm having a little trouble i backed up my old OS and all of my apps. downloaded new OS went throw the whole set up connected BB hit the loader and i thought it loaded but after my BB reset it was still my old .114 OS. i went to the blackberry FAQ and to How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? and it says (Vista users be sure to right click on the .exe file and select "Run As Administrator.")
Do i do that after i download it to my PC or before. when i tried to right click a few times after i downloaded there was no Run as administrator option. i really don't know what I'm doing so if someone could please take the time and help me through this i would be really thankful.
Also when i first tried to up grade it said to delete the vendor.xml file when i did it to mine the file just read vendor no .xml in deleting it did i mess up the download and if so how do i delete the OS off my PC it will not let me i tried to delete it and reload but i couldn't delete the folder

thank you
Vito

1. Download the desired OS.
2. Install the downloaded OS
3. Find and delete Vendor.xml
4. Plug BB in, run the Desktop Manager App Loader.

App loader should pick up the new OS and start the process try it that way and let me know how it works out.

Hi I have the same problem here. I used to upgrade my 8900 to os 206, and then I upgrade with beta 500 but the beta software has some application that I cant open, so I decided to downgrade to 0s 206, but it does not work. I have follow the instruction but the software still doent want to run.

1 - uninstall the beta version from your PC (caveat emptor on early betas - you may want to stay away next time)
2 - Follow SteveO86s instructions TO THE LETTER and it will work - make double sure that you delete VENDOR.XML from your PC C: drive.

See my above post... It worked for the OP, we went back and forth via PM till he got it resolved.
