Since upgrading to 4.5 my contacts with custom ring tones are not being synced properly. I end up with either no entry on the desktop or two entries on the BB (8130) one of which has no custom ring tones. Is anyone else experiencing this?

There are issues with 4.5 and the media card.
Are you keeping your custom ring tones on your media card?

Review the posts and I think Jsanders posted this. You move your data off the card and reformat the card using the Blackberry Handheld format. Move the data back on making sure you do not add any .dat file but just your data files into the new folders that are created.

This may be a reach but I would try it...

The other process I would try is to backup the device, clear the address book and restore it back. This backup restore process will index the data again.

I am not having any other problems with the media card. Media player works fine and the card mounts fine on both Mac and PC.

If your comfortable with the address book on Outlook and it does not have the duplicates, I was wondering if you backup your current address book on the BB and use the DM to clear it? Then sync again to see if the addresses will migrate correctly. My only thought is that there was an issue with the data restore during the upgrade. Maby you found a bug in the way 4.5 manages the custom ringtones?

After I read your first post again, I think we are on the wrong track, sorry. I was thinking that there may be an issue with pulling the ring tone(s) off the media card when a user calls. The folder hiarchy on the 4.5 OS is a bit different than 4.2 and as you know there are issues sometimes with the media card and the OS upgrade.
