No doubt, it will need yet another Bold sub forum.

I'm DYING to get my grubby mitts on the 9650. There's a chance a local guy can get me a unit early. I help him out sometimes with troubleshooting for BB customers at his store, and he's moving to the Evo when it hits, so the pre-sale unit the reps get just might find it's way to me.

Be sure to post a review if you are able to get one early.

I'm also wondering if the date announced is for corporate customers or consumers.... seems like when the 9630 came out it was a week or 2 before the workin' class guy/gal could order it, but I may be remembering wrong.

You are remembering correctly. I was green with envy as corporate users began to sport the new Tour and I was still using an 8330m.

Just because of the roller ball issue with the 9630, I may just get this.

With the wifi feature, would I be able to use this as a hotspot as well?

I doubt Sprint will allow it to be used as a mobile hotspot. The Evo 4G will do that, but Sprint is pretty dead set against tethering.
